General
Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in our services. Providing you with a comprehensive service while protecting your privacy is extremely important to us.
We therefore assure you that your personal data will be treated confidentially and in accordance with the legal data protection regulations as well as this data protection declaration. The legal basis for data protection can be found in the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).
Scope of application
This data protection declaration applies to the use of the websites offered by epiAge Deutschland UG (haftungsbeschränkt), with its headquarters at Jakob-Klar-Straße 4, 80796 Munich, (hereinafter referred to as "epiAge") under the URL www.epi-age.de as well as www.epiage.de (hereinafter referred to as "websites"). This does not apply to third-party websites. Moreover, even if reference is made to third party websites or information is linked to them, it does not apply to third-party websites.
Personal data
Personal data is individual information about the personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person. This includes, for example, your name, your e-mail address, your address data as well as the IP address of your device. Information for which we cannot (or can only with disproportionate effort) establish a link to your person, e.g. by anonymising the information, is not personal data.
Data collection from individual epiAge products
Personal data collected as part of the configuration process for an individual epiAge product will not be passed on by us to anyone.
Collection of data
When you visit our websites, your web browser automatically transmits the IP address of the device you are using, details of the web browser you are using, operating system, as well as the referrer URL (i.e. the URL of the website you visited previously), the date and time of your visit. This data is temporarily stored in the so-called log files on the server. epiAge or our provider uses this log data for statistical evaluations only, that is for the operation, security and optimisation of our websites. In the event of concrete suspicious cases, we will also evaluate this data. This is particularly the case in the event of abuse and/or illegal use of our websites in order to be able to prosecute these cases. However, the data will not be assigned to specific persons and will not be merged with data from other data sources, thus ensuring the greatest possible anonymity when using our websites. Apart from this, we collect and process personal data only insofar as this is necessary for the establishment, implementation and termination of the legal contractual relationship between you and us, to protect our legitimate interests or if you provide us with data voluntarily in some other way. In particular, we will use your personal data in the context of order processing. epiAge will, for example, send you a corresponding e-mail confirmation of your order and inform you by e-mail about the status of your order. In addition, we will disclose your data to our shipping service provider for the delivery of the ordered goods as well as to the payment institution commissioned with the payment processing. Apart from that, we will only transfer your data to third parties, except in the cases mentioned in this data protection declaration, if and insofar as you have consented to the transfer of your data. We prevent unauthorised disclosure of data to third parties outside our company to the best of our ability using modern security technologies.
Registration
You can set up a personal user account on our websites. It is used to speed up the ordering process and provides you with information about your purchasing history as well as access to your settings. To create a user account, please enter the data requested in the corresponding registration form (first and last name or a company name, e-mail address, your address and a password of your choice). To verify the correctness and completeness of the data you have provided, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure, i.e. your user account will only be configured and activated after activation of a confirmation link which we will send to you by e-mail. With your registration, we will also create a user profile for you, in which we may combine and store all of your previous and future activities on our websites (e.g. participation in special offers and competitions, registration for our newsletter, orders, comments and ratings, etc.). You can view the contents of your user profile at any time. If you still wish to delete your user account, please contact us. We will then delete all data linked to the user profile.
Contact
You can contact us by e-mail, telephone and/or in writing. In addition, we offer you the option of contacting us via our web-based contact form. In order to process your contact request as quickly and efficiently as possible, we request personal data such as your name and e-mail address. Furthermore, you can enter your individual message to us in the message field. In this case, we will use your personal data exclusively to answer your enquiry to your utmost satisfaction. In general, you are free to decide which data you provide us with. However, we ask for your understanding that we will refrain from processing incomplete or recognisably incorrect contact requests.
Comments and ratings
It may be possible for you to leave comments and ratings about our products on our websites. We ask you to enter your name and e-mail address. We will also record and store your IP address. This data request and its storage is solely to prevent unauthorised comments and postings, e.g. insults or the dissemination of prohibited political propaganda, because this may involve liability for epiAge. Therefore, we are interested in identifying or contributing to the identification of the true author of the respective comment.
Newsletter
Newsletter data
If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected. We use a newsletter service provider, which is described below, to process the newsletter.
Brevo (formerly Sendinblue)
This website uses Brevo to send newsletters. The provider is Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany. Among other services, Brevo is a service that can be used to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters. The data you enter for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter is stored on Brevo's servers in Germany.
Data analysis by Brevo
With the help of Brevo, we are able to analyse our newsletter campaigns. For example, we can see whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links have been clicked on. We can thus determine which links have been clicked on particularly often. We can also detect whether certain previously defined actions were carried out after opening/clicking (conversion rate). For example, we can detect whether you have made a purchase after clicking on the newsletter. If you do not wish to be subjected to a Brevo analysis, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a corresponding link in every single newsletter.
For detailed information on Brevo functions, please click the following link: https://www.brevo.com/de/newsletter-software/ (in German).
Legal basis
Data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke your consent at any time. The legality of the data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by the revocation.
Storage period
The data you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.
For more information, please refer to Brevo's privacy policy at https://www.brevo.com/de/datenschutz-uebersicht/ (in German)
Data processing agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with the above-mentioned provider. This is a contract prescribed by data protection law, which ensures that the provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
Cookies
Our websites work with so-called "cookies". Cookies are small pieces of information that your browser automatically stores in your computer's memory. Cookies differ in terms of how long they are stored. The storage period of the cookies we use varies between the period of the current browser session on our websites (so-called "session cookie") up to several days and years. Cookies serve different functionalities. The cookies we use are necessary for the user-friendliness of the websites. For example, a cookie can "remember" the settings you have registered and also the contents of your virtual shopping basket so that you do not have to re-enter the information each time. We use cookies that cannot be used across domains (so-called "first-party cookies") as well as cookies that can be used and read by other domains (so-called "third-party cookies"). Most browsers are preset to accept cookies automatically. You can deactivate the storage of cookies or set your browser to notify you before cookies are stored. Users who do not accept cookies may not be able to use certain services on our websites or access certain areas of our websites.
Social plugins
We use so-called "social plugins" on our websites. Currently, these are the plugins of the services facebook, twitter, linkedin, pinterest and Instagram. Information, which may also include personal data, may be sent to the social media providers via these plugins and may be used by them. The unconscious and unintentional collection and transmission of data to the service providers is prevented by epiAge through a "2-click solution". If you nevertheless wish to activate a plugin, it must first be activated by clicking on the corresponding button. Only this activation of the plugin also triggers the collection of information and its transmission to the service provider. epiAge itself does not collect any personal data by means of the social plugins or about their use. To the best of our knowledge and according to the information provided by the social media services, they do not collect and store any personal data as long as you are not logged into your social media account and as long as you have not activated the plugin. Only when you are connected to your account and have activated the plugin as described above, your browser can transmit specific information, such as posts on our websites, comments as well as your IP address and other information to the servers of the social media provider. The social media provider may record and store this information, associate it with your user account and the personal data stored there, and make it available to the public. In some cases, social media providers place a cookie on your device to record and track your browsing behaviour on our websites. Please note that we have no control over the data collected by the respective social media provider.
The facebook "Like" button establishes a direct connection to the services of facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. For more information on which data is collected and how it is used, please refer to facebook's data protection information: www.facebook.com/help. Options for protecting your privacy within facebook can be found at: www.facebook.com/policy.
The social plugin from Twitter establishes a direct connection to the services of Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. For information on which data is collected and how it is used, please refer to Twitter's privacy policy: twitter.com/privacy. You can find options for protecting your privacy at: twitter.com/settings.

If you are a member of one of the social media providers mentioned and do not want the respective provider to collect data about your visit to our websites, please log out of your social media account before visiting our websites and activating the plugin. It may also be helpful to delete all social media cookies from your browser.
Google Products
Google Ads/Re-Marketing and Google AdSense/DoubleClick
We also use Google's services for usage-based online advertising on your computer. These services allow the anonymous recognition of your browser and thus collect information about your activities on the websites you visit (e.g. surfing behaviour, sub-pages visited on our website, etc.). This data is used to create usage profiles under a pseudonym, which do not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person and therefore do not allow any personal identification. The information generated by the cookies about your use of these websites (including your IP address) and the delivery of advertising formats will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. However, Google will not merge your IP address with other data stored by you. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. This procedure allows anonymous re-targeting on the one hand (within the scope of the "Google Remarketing" or "Google Ads" products) on Google's websites and on the other hand (within the scope of the "Google AdSense" or "Doubleclick" products) on our websites and - depending on your interests - when you visit websites of other partners. Your browser is identified and assigned to a target group when advertising is delivered. This information is used to enable the targeted delivery of advertisements that are more relevant and interesting to you. You can object to the collection and storage of data by Google at any time with effect for the future by going to www.google.de/settings/ads, accessing your display settings at Google and deactivating the display of interest-based advertising by Google under "Deactivation settings". This will prevent Google from displaying targeted advertising to you. An opt-out cookie will then be set, which prevents the future collection of your data when visiting this website. Please note that if you delete all cookies, the opt-out cookie will also be deleted and will need to be re-saved if required.

etracker
We use the web analysis service etracker for statistical analyses and the optimisation of our website. With your consent, you agree – exclusively for these purposes – to the use of cookies and similar technologies on our website. You can revoke your consent with effect for the future at any time on the website.
